Privacy Policy

VoiceOverGame (voiceovergame.net) is a free voice over game that runs in your browser. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. The short version: there is no account, your recordings are never uploaded to us, there is no advertising, and the only analytics is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies.

What we collect

We do not collect personal data through the game. There is no sign-up, no login and no form. We do not receive your voice recordings, the videos you load, or your scores.

What stays in your browser

The game saves a few things locally on your device so your work is still there next time:

• Your takes: the audio of each line you record and its score, stored in your browser's IndexedDB.
• Projects you create from your own videos, including the video file and the line timings and text, also stored in IndexedDB.

This data never leaves your device through the site. You can delete individual takes and projects in the game, or remove everything by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Microphone

The browser asks for microphone permission the first time you record. Audio from your microphone is processed inside the browser tab to record and score your take. It is not streamed or sent to any server. You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser's site settings.

Files loaded from third parties

Two features download files from outside the site, and only when you use them:

• MP4 export downloads the ffmpeg video encoder (about 30 MB) from jsDelivr the first time you export.
• Transcription downloads the Whisper speech recognition model from Hugging Face, along with its runtime files from jsDelivr.

Only the files are downloaded; none of your audio or video is sent. As with any web request, those providers receive technical details such as your IP address and browser type, which they handle under their own privacy policies.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies. The site itself sets no cookies.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure how fast pages load. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser for tracking, and does not follow you across other sites. It reports aggregate figures such as pages viewed, referring sites, country, browser and device type, and page load timings. None of your recordings, videos or scores are part of it.

Contacting us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we do not share them.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. Because the game collects no personal data, we do not knowingly hold personal information about anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts using a service that changes how data is handled, such as advertising or a different analytics tool, this page will be updated before that happens, and the effective date above will change.
